Pros: My First Somewhat High Graphics Card, it performs well, Easy to install (except Drivers CD See Cons.) Average Understanding of the Settings, but other wise Easy to tinker with.Ĭons: I had to take the fan off one Graphics card and put it on this one as it will Warm up quick ( Be sure to Purchase a fan or get a really good cooling system). Hopefully this will save someone the time I spent. The only drivers for a 7xxx Series chip are built into Vista, the 7xxx and 92xx and up Series are not in the same "Family", and therefore will not work together in Vista. The problem is that there are NO PCI Cards with an ATI chip beyond the 7xxx Series. Specifically, only the 9200 Series and UP Drivers are available on the ATI site for Vista. There is a 7900 Series AGP card that is about fifty dollars more which, according to the information available, almost doubles the speed capabilities.
The companion AGP Card I chose was a EVGA 256-A8-N542-T2 GeForce 7600GS. Reviews and the good price, I chose this card. Since I'm not a gamer, this is a non-issue. My System Board has an AGP slot, no PCI Express Slots.
I purchased this card in order to give myself the capability of having up to 4 monitors (multiple
